Known alternatively as Everlasting flower, Italian Straw Flower, and Sun Gold oil, this oil is steam distilled from the precious petals of the Helichrysum italicum flower. It is wild-crafted on the island of Corsica, where the flowers can prosper under a gorgeous yellow sun. In the rocky Corsican cliffs, the flowers grow at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The chemistry of this high altitude soil makes the oil more beneficial than any other immortelle variety and distillation.

"Sometimes Immortelle is also called Sun Gold because of its ball-shaped golden yellow blossom. The plant grows to 20 inches high. It has delicate, lance-shaped leaves, which in some species are covered with white hair. The scent of a crushed leaf is surprising, with its intense curry fragrance. When dried, the plant keeps its shape and the flower, its yellow color. The immortelle seems indeed immortal – a grand claim for such a tiny flower – and ideal for dried flower arrangements."
