Quick overview
Benevolent Boronia Absolute is a delicious, delectable fragrance experience distilled from diminutive petals of the Australian Boronia shrub. Meek and unassuming at just a meter high, this shrub bursts with art-deco shaped flowers: a purple-brown on the outside, bursting with bold yellow on the inside. The petals form a cup shape meant to welcome pollinators, while the complex, fruity, floral aroma of the flower's oil leaves bees no choice but to enter the sacred petal folds.

Intensely attractive and unabashedly coveted, our benevolently fragrant Boronia Absolute is one of the most delectable, sought-after fragrances in the world. Distilled from the sweet oils offered by the flowering Australian Boronia plant, this elixir is captured at the precise moment the flower's stigma opens to be pollinated by bees. The heightened fragrance attracts pollinators to the flower just as you may be attracted to this warm, fruity floral bouquet.
Boronia Absolute is primarily used in the aromatic arts of perfume and aromatherapy for its unparalleled scent. The oil was named after Francesco Borone, a young 18th century botanist who met an untimely death while studying under Sir James Smith. Smith named the sweet-smelling shrub after his deceased protégé as a way to honor his memory.
The tantalizing fragrance of Boronia Absolute is a gift to lift the spirits and inspire renewed interest in love and life. For this reason, it is often used as an amorous aroma, modeling the natural dance that culminates in the union of pollinator and flower.
"The absolute [boronia] is used in high-class perfumery work, especially florals. Used in specialized flavor work, especially rich fruit products."
~ Julia Lawless, The Encyclopedia of Essential Oils
"The steam distillation of Boronia megastigma yields only an extremely small part of the oil actually contained in the flowers, and the steam distilled oil possesses an odor quite different from that of the flower itself. The most appropriate method of recovering the natural floral oil from B. megastigma is by absolute extraction..."
