Stimulate senses as you satisfy your soul's sweet tooth! Cacao Absolute is a rich, velvety elixir that ignites passions and inspires an appetite for life. Revered by ancient Central Americans, Cacao is known as "the food of the gods," and has long been held in high esteem for its value as a food, along with its emotional and spiritual benefits. This ultra-concentrated absolute dispels doubt and boosts desire. It is also a delectable, beneficial addition to body butters, custom oil blends, and perfumes.
Celebrated since time immemorial, chocolate has a history as rich as its delectable taste and fragrance. It was a favorite food and drink of the Mayan and Aztec cultures of Central America, which date back to 2600 BCE and the 12th century AD respectively.
In Aztec culture, the seeds or beans of the cacao plant were used as currency and to make a sacred drink called Xocoatl. On a stone metate, roasted corn and cacao seeds were ground with cinnamon, vanilla, salt, maca, and chilies to create a savory mix that was turned into a deliciously invigorating brew. Consuming chocolate as a beverage was an incredible privilege only enjoyed by royalty and high priests. Xocoatl was a known aphrodisiac associated with the Aztec god Xochipilli, who was the god of music, poetry, and spirituality.
Cacao Absolute contains the same compounds found in chocolate that the brain releases after a kiss. And of course, chocolate has long been known to make us happy. It offers a euphoric fragrance that may excite amorous desires and elevate moods.
When you add a few drops of this distilled chocolate nectar into a massage oil, bath, or perfume, you are opening a direct olfactory connection to pure chocolate divinity; the spirits of the ancient Aztecs and their poet-god Xochipilli are conjured to convene in the ritual consumption of "the food of the gods."
"Cacao absolute (Theobroma cacao) is a dark brown thick absolute extracted from cocoa beans. Some cacao absolutes are sweeter, some richer, some more bitter, like the varieties of dark chocolate. Cacao absolute blends well with the obvious chocolate partners – mint, orange, vanilla – as well as ylang ylang, saffron, and jasmine. The scent of chocolate has always been thought of as an aphrodisiac."
