Fruitier than Lemon and lighter than Orange, Kumquat’s sublime citrus essence is bright and balanced. This very versatile oil is salient in skin care, dapper in diffusers, cheery in culinary creations, and heavenly in home-cleaning solutions.

“A kumquat cometh.” Carl Sandburg

Cheerfully keen Kumquat is a thumb shaped citrus fruit that springs from fragrant white flowers that bountifully cover the small shrub throughout springtime. Native to Asia, this heat and humidity loving shrub was introduced first to European Orangeries and then to southern Brazil where organic Kumquat orchards thrive.

Citrus japonica Kumquat fruit has the unusual arrangement of citrus sweet skin and sour pulp. The cold-pressed sweet peel provides a rich source of lively limonene, a robust free radical scavenger, and more than 100 additional plant constituents — half of those are unique to Kumquat essential oil. It is also a rare source of uncommon C-glycoside flavonoids.

This GRAS oil can be added to by the drop to your favorite culinary dishes, concoctions, and confections, and it brings a dash of brightness to household cleaning solutions. A dash in skin care blends can brighten and tone the complexion.
