“Lavender absolute and concrete is produced from direct extraction of the herb with solvents (concrete) and thence extraction… The concrete can be used in soaps, fougères, chypres, ambers, tabac perfumes, etc. It blends well with bergamot citrus oils, musks, eugenol, etc.”
~ Maria Lis-Balchin, Lavender: The Genus Lavandula
“Lavender absolute: the odour is very similar to the plant, although more intense, sweet and herbaceous, with green floral and hay-like nuances (from L. angustifolia).”
~ Jennifer Peace Rhind, Listening to Scent
