"Oil from wild plants is known as 'khus' in India... In Ayurveda vetiver is classed as a bitter, sweet and very cooling preparation. In the hot season bundles of the roots are soaked in drinking water to stay cool, and to prevent Pitta 'flare-ups'. The incense and essential oil are used to cool the mind and improve concentration."
