Sapient Saro Essential Oil is steam distilled from the aromatic foliage of the Cinnamosma fragrans shrub of Madagascar. Pleasantly purifying, this oil is as uplifting as citrus and as utile as Eucalyptus yet with a warm floral finish.

Extraction Method: Steam distilled
Part of Plant Distilled: Leaves
Country of Origin: Madagascar
Cultivation Method: Wild cultivation
Composition: 100% Cinnamosma fragrans essential oil
Consistency: Thin, pale yellow.
Scent Description: Fresh and camphoraceous with a floral sweetness.
Uses: Lungs love Saro. It is boundless as a botanicalbiotic. Add a drop to a salt pipe or diffuser. Apply a drop neat to the temples or the back of the neck to quiet throbbing and tame tension. Lends warmth to rubbing oils. In Ayurvedic terms it purifies prana and udana.
Contraindications: Dilute to use on children.
Components: 40% 1,8 cineole

The Cannellaceae family of plants, including Cinnamosma fragrans, grow only in Madagascar. Mandravasarotra, which is the local name for this medium sized evergreen shrub translates as “keeps bad things away.” The people of Madagascar use the aromatic leaves in decoctions and teas as restorative and purifying tonics, poultices, and balms for all accounts of exposures and discomforts.

Saro Essential Oil’s broad botanicalbiotic largesse is a wintertime necessity for lung-love and air purification. Add to a drop to a carrier oil for a warming chest balm for better breathing or to a massage oil to blanket tight muscles with tenderness. Enjoy in a diffuser or salt pipe. The freshening floral aroma is pleasantly energizing in aromatherapy. The camphor-like aroma arises from cineole, a plant compound that is non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing.
