THE LUMINIOUS LATHER: A SHAMPOO FOR SHINY MANES

Our original and bestselling botanical shampoo ordains your mane with a clean sheen. Undress your tresses from chemical duress with our tried-and-true herbal infusion shampoo that brings out the best in all hair types without synthetic suds. It cleanses the scalp naturally and is gentle enough for a body wash or a baby’s bubble bath.

The luminous legend of this shampoo is rooted in its super-concentrated Seabuckthorn extract. Centuries ago, during Alexander the Great's campaigns, weary and wounded battle horses were released into wild thickets of a mysterious orange berry bush to pass away peacefully. Instead, after nourishing themselves on the tart fruit and leaves, which science now knows are bountiful with rare omega-7 fatty acids and nutrients, the horses returned to the camp replenished with silky, shiny coats of hair. This illustrious transformation led to the botanical name, Hippophae rhamnoides: the tree that makes the horses shine.

This natural shampoo is imbued with the golden-orange hue of wild Seabuckthorn berries. These bioactive lipids form a juicy emulsion of concentrated extracts, brimming with beneficial fatty acids and antioxidants. Infused into Jojoba’s emollient embrace with a bouquet of herbal hair heroes: Horsetail, Comfrey, Oatstraw, Coltsfoot, and Red Clover. These silky suds are further synergized with scalp reviving essences of Peppermint and Rosemary, which awaken hair follicles and balance sebum oils. The blend is beautifully enhanced with cleansing Lime, Grapefruit, and comforting Chamomile. The cushiony lather is created with botanical saponifiers that deliver soft, satisfying suds while maintaining your skin’s natural, dermatological synergy, even for the most sensitive skin types. This non-stripping wash lifts residue and excess sebum without drying out the scalp biome or hair strands, creating the clear condition for maximizing your mane.

SHAMPOO + BODYWASH DIRECTIONS

Shampooing: To cleanse your hair, massage a small amount of this radiant lather into a wet scalp, adding water as necessary to build up a rich, supple foam. Spend a few minutes using your fingertips to thoroughly scrub the scalp, clearing away buildup so that pores are completely free to respire and inspire hair growth. Keep in mind that shampoo is primarily for cleansing the scalp; the process of rinsing the lather down the length of your hair is more than sufficient to cleanse the strands. Follow with Shine On Conditioner or our Honey Myrtle Deep Conditioning Mask for soft, shiny, and heavenly-scented hair. This gentle shampoo is perfectly safe and supportive for young ones’ hair, natural blondes, and color-treated tresses.

Hand Soap + Body Wash: As a body wash, Seabuckthorn Shampoo serves as a lovely, multi-use staple for your countertop and shower. Pour a small amount into your palms for a sudsy wash, or dispense it generously under running water to watch it bloom into a clean, botanical bubble bath that is gentle enough even for a baby's tub. To extend your bottle and create a magnificent countertop hand soap, simply fill a foaming pump bottle with half Seabuckthorn Shampoo and half distilled water, then shake gently to combine.

Color-Treated Hair: Our shampoos serve colored hair beautifully. Similar to healthy skin, healthy hair is naturally coated in protective sebum that keeps each strand elastic, smooth, and highly reflective. Synthetic hair products, even those marketed specifically for treated hair, strip away these vital oils, irritate the scalp, and leave behind an occlusive residue that stifles the skin, cuticle, and hair follicles. Harsh chemical surfactants cause hair color to fade fast, leaving strands dull and lifeless.

Pre-Color Prep: To prime your mane, create a pre-color ritual the day or night before you plan on applying color by treating your hair to an intensive moisture treatment. Use our super-hydrating Honey Myrtle Deep Conditioning Mask, or let our Shine On Conditioner seep into your strands overnight. This deeply primes the hair matrix and paves the way for luminous, long-lasting color, as plump, well-hydrated strands grab onto the pigment more effectively and hold onto their vibrant dimension much longer without fading.

It has excellent compatibility with even the most sensitive skin types and lifts away impurities while naturally protecting the scalp biome, the hair's living lipids, and the planet's waterways.

Yucca — Yucca elata
Native to the American Southwest and affectionately known as the soap tree, the roots of this majestic plant are naturally abundant in rich plant saponins. Historically used as a traditional botanical soap, these pure Yucca roots encourage a magnificent, frothy lather in our shampoo while acting as a deep emollient to soothe, soften, and smooth the hair shaft.

Bladderwrack — Fucus vesiculosus
This succulent seaweed is naturally mucilaginic, being both moisturizing and tonifying for the hair. People from regions that ingest lots of seaweed often have thick, beautiful hair! Dry, thirsty hair will relish the vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids found in our wild-harvested seaweed extract. Juicy, gelatinous seaweed holds moisture inside the strands to dramatically reduce flyaways, eliminate frizz, and replenish hair shine.

Orange Wax — Citrus aurantium
This zesty wax is extracted directly from the freshly pressed peels of oranges and is brimming with fabulous phytosterols. It acts as a brilliant, completely natural botanical emulsifier that enhances the creamy stability of the formula, seamlessly entwining our raw plant ingredients together.

Calendula — Calendula officinalis
Compounds of Calendula are captured in this herbal infusion of sunny bright yellow petals packed with positive, potent properties. This infusion harnesses the pleasant properties of marigold petals that have an ancient affinity of comforting and caressing dry skin and scalps.

Comfrey — Symphytum officinale
Comforting Comfrey comes from the Latin confirma, meaning “with strength,” and symphytum, meaning “to unite.” This deeply mucilaginous plant is celebrated for its incredibly high allantoin content, which provides a silky, slippery glide that wraps around each individual strand to deeply nourish the hair and scalp.

Stinging Nettles — Urtica dioica
Numinous Nettles are an effective and ancient plant tonic to nourish the skin and scalp while fortifying delicate hair fibers from root to tip for renewed strength.

Grapefruit — Citrus paradisi
Gladdening Grapefruit is a cheery, sun-drenched essential oil that is instantly uplifting and euphoric to the senses. It works as a natural, aromatic clarifier to gently cleanse, refresh, and wake up both the hair and scalp.

Peppermint — Mentha piperita
Perky Peppermint clears the mind and brings a rich cache of cooling botanical compounds to care for dry, tired scalps. It enlivens the hair follicles, beautifully balances excess sebum production, and leaves your entire mane feeling tingly, shiny, and soft.

Vetiver — Vetiveria zizanioides
Verdant, viscous Vetiver is a rooted, earthy, and grounding essence with a deep, mysterious fragrance. Distilled from the root of a tropical grass, it has an unparalleled affinity for hair care—deeply moisturizing the hair shaft, reinforcing its strength, and bestowing a brilliant, glossy glow.

Lime — Citrus aurantifolia
Lime’s fresh, zesty, and crisp citrus scent supports shiny, happy hair. It works effortlessly to release trapped dirt, environment debris, and heavy oils, beautifully renewing your hair’s natural, luminous luster.

By naturally slowing down the oxidation process, this dynamic herbal duo extends the pristine freshness of our shampoo while delivering cogent nourishment straight to your strands and scalp biome.

SEABUCKTHORN SHAMPOO: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can this formula help encourage long, healthy hair growth and combat thin strands?
Yes, because the botanical bubbles are better for the scalp biome, cleansing without stripping. It leaves behind zero synthetic residues that can compromise the sebaceous glands and follicles. As Amy shares:

"My hair grew several inches, stopped falling out, and looks thicker!!! My hair has never looked better and I have gotten so many compliments on how radiant and healthy it is since I started using this shampoo."

What should I expect when transitioning from conventional, chemical-laden hair products to this botanical lather?
When switching from synthetic shampoos, the hair and scalp may go through a brief detox moment as occlusive chemical residue is thoroughly cleansed and the sebaceous glands naturally return to a healthy state of balance. As Lori experiences:

"The first shampoo I did not like. After I got out of the shower, my hair felt like I had wax in it... I realized it wasn't the product at all; my hair was releasing the waxy residue from other shampoos and conditioners that were being removed. Then I actually came to enjoy the light conditioner. I noticed my hair felt softer, smoother, cleaner, lighter, and had more volume since it wasn't all gunked down."

Will this formula work effectively to restore bounce and curl patterns if I live in an area with hard water?
Yes. Dissolved minerals in hard water bond tenaciously to synthetic hair products, trapping chemical residues against the hair shaft and straightening out your natural waves. Because Seabuckthorn Shampoo is entirely free of sulfites and silicones, it naturally cuts through mineral scale instead of compounding it. As Donna notes:

"Living in a dry climate with hard water, my naturally wavy/curly hair has suffered. A couple of weeks' use of this shampoo has cleared off all that mineral buildup and allowed my curls to live again."

Does Seabuckthorn Shampoo help with the appearance of persistent scalp flakiness?
One of the main root causes of scalp dysbiosis, flakes, dryness, and dandruff is the repetitive use of harsh synthetic surfactants week after week, year after year. Our non-stripping suds deliver a dense cache of living plant bioactives—including supercritical Seabuckthorn lipids, scalp-reviving Rosemary, and Peppermint essential oils—to help free hair follicles while beautifully calming the crown. As Joshila details:

"It has completely removed the loose flakes on my scalp, amazing! I also had an itchy scalp, and after using your shampoo just twice, the itching completely calmed down and then disappeared altogether. But perhaps the biggest improvement by far has been the grey hair... I noticed that after every use of the Seabuckthorn Shampoo, the appearance of my grey hairs gradually got darker... All the areas that were previously heavily grey had the appearance of near black again (my original hair color) with a few grey hairs."
