Verdurous Vintage Vetiver Essential Oil is distilled from the fragrant roots of an exceptionally aromatic tropical grass that are aged to perfection. The scent is earthy like fresh forest soil, leathery like aged tobacco leaves, astringently green like fresh grass, and woody like tree bark. This special reserve of aged vetiver is valued by aficionados for its deeper, woodier, and richer aroma that charms colognes and aroma-therapeutic blends to new vetiver-vistas.
“If there’s a more perfect natural raw material for a masculine scent than vetiver, I’ve never smelled it.”
~ Chandler Burr, The Emperor of Scent

Steam distilled from the robust root of the Vetiver plant, our Vintage Vetiver Essential Oil is organically harvested in Indonesia as part of a special project with the Meyha tribe that grows vetiver to prevent topsoil erosion.
Like fine wine, Vetiver essence enriches as it ages: distillation begins with Vetiver roots that have been aged for two years and then distilled in copper alembics. Skin thrives with Vetiver's replenishing verdancy and senses revive upon inhaling this earthy-exudate. The goodness of this oil is grounding and calming for the skin and spirit, anointing the roots of the skin as the rain anoints the grass.
Vetiver is a marvelous moisturizer that helps skin maintain its youthful plumpness while soothing tired tissues, softening the appearance of scars and stretch marks, and balancing sebum production. Adaptagenic in nature, Vetiver oil strengthens, stimulates, and tends to balance the skin's garden.
Vetiver's full-bodied fragrance earthbounds energy and ensconces the body with earthly ardor.
"Very few remedies, aromatic or otherwise, exert the same depth of restorative action as vetiver."
~ Peter Homes, Aromatica
